Sparticle spectrum and phenomenology in split supersymmetry: some possibilities
نویسندگان
چکیده
We investigate the split supersymmetry (SUSY) scenario recently proposed by Arkani-Hamed and Dimopoulos, where the scalars are heavy but the fermions are within the TeV range. We show that the sparticle spectrum in such a case crucially depends on the specific details of the mechanism underlying the SUSY breaking scheme, and the accelerator signals are also affected by it. In particular, we demonstrate in the context of a braneworld-inspired model, used as illustration in the original work, that a new fermion ψX , arising from the SUSY breaking sector, is shown to control low-energy phenomenology in several cases. Also, SUSY signals are characterised by the associated production of the light neutral Higgs. In an alternative scenario where the gauginos are assumed to propagate in the bulk, we find that gluinos can be heavy and short-lived, and the SUSY breaking scale can be free of cosmological constraints. Recent developments involving strongly coupled superstrings are discussed from a phenomenological point of view. In particular, strongly coupled E8 ×E′ 8 is described as an appropriate long-wavelength limit of M-theory, and some generic phenomenological implications are analyzed, including a long sought downward shift of the string unification scale and a novel way to break supersymmetry. A spe...
متن کاملSparticle Spectroscopy and Phenomenology in a New Class of Gauge Mediated Supersymmetry Breaking Models
Recently, a proposal (by R.N.M. and S.N.) was made for a new class of gauge mediated supersymmetry breaking (GMSB) models where the standard model gauge group is embedded into the gauge group SU(2)L ×U(1)I3R ×U(1)B−L (or SU(2)L × SU(2)R × U(1)B−L) at the supersymmetry breaking scale Λ. Supersymmetry breaking is transmitted to the visible sector via the same fields that are responsible for gauge...
متن کاملSparticle spectrum and constraints in anomaly mediated supersymmetry breaking models
We study in detail the particle spectrum in anomaly mediated supersymmetry breaking models in which supersymmetry breaking terms are induced by the super-Weyl anomaly. We investigate the minimal anomaly mediated supersymmetry breaking models, gaugino assisted supersymmetry breaking models, as well as models with additional residual nondecoupling D-term contributions due to an extra U(1) gauge s...
متن کاملPhenomenology of flavor-mediated supersymmetry breaking
The phenomenology of a new economical supersymmetric model that utilizes dynamical supersymmetry breaking and gauge-mediation for the generation of the sparticle spectrum and the hierarchy of fermion masses is discussed. Similarities between the communication of supersymmetry breaking through a messenger sector, and the generation of flavor using the Froggatt-Nielsen (FN) mechanism are exploite...
متن کاملGeneralized messengers of supersymmetry breaking and the sparticle mass spectrum
We investigate the sparticle spectrum in models of gauge-mediated supersymmetry breaking. In these models, supersymmetry is spontaneously broken at an energy scale only a few orders of magnitude above the electroweak scale. The breakdown of supersymmetry is communicated to the standard model particles and their superpartners by “messenger” fields through their ordinary gauge interactions. We st...
